Depaul UK
Running the Islington Youth Hub
Depaul UK is a homelessness charity that specialises in helping young people.
It was founded in 1989 in response to the rising number of young people sleeping rough on the streets of London and since then has expanded across the UK with hubs in London, Manchester, Sheffield and Whitley Bay.
For over 30 years, Depaul UK have iterated our approach to services and programmes so that we can reach as many people in need of support as possible, helping them progress from a state of crisis to stability and independence.
Depaul requested a donation from the Morris Charitable Trust to go towards the running costs of the Islington Youth Hub, operated in partnership with New Horizons Youth Centre. The Islington Youth Hub is a short-term accommodation project offering young people facing homelessness a safe place to stay and the support they need to find permanent accommodation.
“By offering a wide range of support, the team at the Islington Youth Hub is able to help young people in London avoid the dangers of rough sleeping and move on to the brighter future they deserve. This includes supported accommodation, returning to the family home and getting their own tenancy in the social or private rented sectors.”
