Going Places

Reducing isolation and loneliness through harnessing the energy and expertise of older people

Since 1985, All Change has been bringing artists and communities together, producing original and authentic arts projects and experiences, which develop understanding and make connections between people.

Ours is a continuing story of connection, collaboration, care and celebration, of ambition and activism, of listening and learning, of change and transformation for individuals and communities.

Our Going Places programme is co-created with older people and provides access to high quality arts and cultural experiences through a programme of workshops and events in community, day and residential care setting and cultural venues, working to reduce isolation and loneliness, harnessing the energy and expertise of older people, amplifying and celebrating the extraordinary contribution they make to our city.

“Alsen and New Park day centres have had a long and creative relationship with All Change. Our service user group is made up of ethnically diverse older people with physical and mental health issues. Social isolation is a problem for the majority, as they live on their own and have mobility issues and can’t use public transport. All Change projects give them a chance to develop their own creative expression through the arts, and a voice in the development of the projects, which helps them feel actively involved with the sessions. We have noticed a complete change in people’s well-being. People become more alert and positive, appear less anxious and it helps alleviate depression For some it has helped them regain some of the cognitive skills that they’ve lost and also to develop new skills.”
