Almeida Theatre
Special Education Needs & Disability Schools Partnerships
At the Almeida, we work with schools across Islington to support creativity and learning.
We support young people to embark on creative careers by offering formative work experience opportunities.
With the support of the Morris Charitable Trust, we run a bespoke careers programme especially for Special Education Needs & Disability Schools, supporting their students to learn about theatre through weekly practical sessions that strengthen their confidence and future careers both at the Almeida and across industries.
“We’re thrilled to have the Morris Charitable Trust’s support to deliver our SEND Schools Programme in 2024-25. Students will receive tailored workshops aimed at developing their understanding of the intricacies of the inner workings of a theatre. Our focus is on employability, creating opportunities for students to learn more about creative careers through practical sessions, with access to our creatives and industry professionals. Students this year will explore Costume Design, Set Design, Sound and Lighting Design, Marketing, Producing and Participation.”
